Coffee and Donuts - There will be coffee and donuts after the 10AM Mass today.  Please join us.

Lenten Recollection Breakfast - Free - Please note that the Saturday, March 11, morning breakfast is free.  It was originally listed at $15, but in order to enable all to attend, children included, breakfast will be free for all.  A collection will be taken at the Offertory of the Mass to help defray the costs of the recollection.

Stations of the Cross - During Lent the Friday evening Holy Hour will begin at 5pm followed by Stations of the Cross at 6pm and Mass at 6:30pm.

Adult Convert / Confirmation Class - Our next class will be on Tuesday, February 28 at 7pm.  Access via the alley door on Buttonwood St.

Ash Wednesday Schedule

  • 7:00am—Low Mass
  • 7:00pm—Sung Mass

Ashes will be distributed before both Masses.

Coffee Social Volunteers — Thank You! - Thank you to the many people who have volunteered to help clean the Social Hall after Sunday morning coffee and donuts.  We had a great response.

 Stay Home if Sick - If you are sick and contagious, it is not necessary to come to Mass.  In such instances, it is an act of charity toward your fellow parishioners, especially those more susceptible to illness, to remain at home.

St. Tarcisius Meeting - Our next St. Tarcisius Meeting is Saturday, March 4 at 5:00pm.  The group is for children ages 5 – 12 and meets monthly in order to train the children to meditate.  Each meeting includes a short, priest led meditation, the rosary, and a potluck dinner.  Meetings are the 1st Saturday of the month from 5-7pm.  For information concerning our February meeting please contact us at SaintTarcisiusGroup@MaterDeiPA.com

Church Laws on Fasting & Abstinence - Handouts are available in the back of church containing the laws of the Church regarding Fasting and Abstinence.  As a reminder, Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are both days of fast and abstinence.

1st Friday Promise - This week are both the 1st Friday and 1st Saturday of the month.   Our Lord told St. Margaret Mary:

I promise you, in the excessive mercy of My Heart, that My all-powerful love will grant to all those  who communicate on the First Friday of nine consecutive months, the grace of final penitence;  they shall not die in my disgrace, nor without receiving their Sacraments, My Divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment.

Mater Dei Lenten Recollection

March 10 - 12 - Fr. Saguto FSSP, North American District Superior, will give a weekend spiritual recollection at St. Lawrence March 10 - 12.  All parishioners are strongly encouraged to clear their calendars for the weekend.  This will be a excellent preparation for a holy and fruitful Lent.

Friday, March 10

  • 6:00pm: Low Mass
  • 6:45-8:15pm: Sermon / Exposition / Rosary /Sermon

Saturday, March 11

  • 8:50am: Prelude*
  • 9:00am: Polyphonic Sung Mass
  • Following Mass: Postlude Meditation
  • 10:30 - 11:00am: Breakfast (Complimentary)
  • 11:00 - 12:30pm: Sermon / Exposition / Rosary /Sermon

Sunday, March 12

  • 8:00am: Low Mass (Concluding sermon by Fr. Saguto)
  • 10:00am: Sung Mass (Concluding sermon by Fr. Saguto)

*Guest Choir - The Saturday 9:00am Mass will be a Polyphonic Mass sung by a visiting choir from our FSSP apostolate in Scranton.  We are grateful to them for accepting the invitation to sing this Mass.
