Holy Day of Obligation:
Thursday, May 26, is the Feast of the Ascension of Our Lord, which is a Holy Day of Obligation, and which means the same obligations bind for this day as for Sundays: that all are bound to assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and to abstain from unnecessary manual labor. At St. Lawrence, we will offer Masses at 7:10 am, 12 noon, and 7 pm. There will be a High Mass in the evening.
Chant Camp 2022:
This summer’s Chant Camp under the direction of Music Director Paul Thomas May is scheduled for July 11-15. Registration for parishioners begins May 22. Registration for non-parishioners opens June 5 (if space is still available). The first four days are spent learning and preparing the sacred music for an 11am Sung Mass on the feast of St. Henry, Emperor, Confessor. Lunch and sports/games at Wormleysburg Park each day. This year our instructors will include two FSSP seminarians from Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary. For more information please contact Paul Thomas May at music@stlawrence.cc.

Calling all Altar Boys and those interested:
Any boy who has received his First Holy Communion is invited to consider being an Altar Boy at St. Lawrence. The Altar Boys meet on the second Saturday of the month. The next regularly-scheduled practice will be June 12. The regular meeting begins after the 9 am Mass. It includes a light breakfast, a meeting led with a spiritual talk from one of the priests, practice serving, recreation, pizza for lunch, and clean up. It concludes at 12:30 pm. For more information about becoming an altar boy, email Fr. Smith or Mr. Pitman at altarboys@stlawrence.cc.
Sunday Socials: Help still needed:
Please consider helping with our Sunday Socials after the 9am and 11am Masses. The goal is to have many volunteers so that volunteers only have to do their duty once every month or two. If you can help please email: socials@stlawrence.cc.
Fr. Smith away:
Fr. Smith will be away May 27-28 attending FSSP Ordinations in Denton, Nebraska. Please keep the men being ordained in your prayers. *Fr. Smith will offer the Pro Populo Mass on Ascension Thursday while away.
High School Graduation Mass:
For any parishioner families who have high school students graduating this spring, we will be offering a graduation Mass followed by a reception in the parish social hall on Friday evening, June 3. The evening will begin with a Holy Hour starting at 5:30pm, followed by Mass at 6:30pm, and then the reception after Mass ends. If you would be interested in participating, please email Fr. Killackey at assistant.pastor@stlawrence.cc.
Altar Cloth Ministry:
If you would like to learn how to clean, maintain, and prepare the Sacred Fabrics used on and at the altar for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, please email: altarcloths@stlawrence.cc. We would like to form a small group of people who would slowly learn the techniques and care required for the linen cloths placed on the altar, the most sacred part of a church, under which rest relics of the martyrs, and upon which is performed the Sacrifice of Calvary in an unbloody manner. These cloths include the three layers of cloths on the altar, on the credence table, the cloths used for the ceremonial hand washing in the sacristy as part of the vesting prayers, as well as the long, white garment (the alb) worn by the priest while celebrating Mass; and the short white garment worn by the priest while reciting the Divine Office (the surplice). Due to the great dignity of the act in which these fabrics participate, they must always be clean and beautiful. If interested, we invite you to attend an information session which should occur sometime this summer. You may then evaluate if you would like to be part of the regular rotation. If you are interested in joining the Altar Cloth Ministry, email: altarcloths@stlawrence.cc
St. Catherine of Siena Young Adults' Group:
For any young adults (ages 18-35) interested, St. Lawrence has a Young Adult group which meets about three times a month for different events, including social events, charitable works, and Bible studies. Please email Fr. Killackey: assistant.pastor@stlawrence.cc.
Father Buckley Pilgrimage:
The Pilgrimage will be held this year from Wednesday June 1st through Saturday June 4th. This Pilgrimage is a 60-mile journey for boys and men to pray, hike and camp along the Chesapeake and Ohio (C&O) Canal for two main reasons; Reparation for our personal sins; Those of our Nation. The Pilgrimage will be led by Father Franco FSSP and some FSSP Seminarians. Also, there are typically groups participating from St Joseph’s in Richmond VA and St. Benedicts in Norfolk VA. If you are interested in attending this very fruitful penitential pilgrimage, please contact Chris Sloane at (717) 314-2866.
