Mater Dei Community Picnic - The Holy Name Society is sponsoring the Community picnic this year on Sunday, Sept 20th after the High Mass at the Ricci State Park, North East pavilion. There will be a sign up sheet in the Vestibule for food/ side dishes that people can bring. Hamburgers, hotdogs and drinks will be provided. There is a playground and ball field near by. Catechism Registration - Next Sunday, September 20th, there will be a table outside of the Church after the 8am and 10am Masses to register your children. Children must be registered members of Mater Dei to enroll. The cost is $45 for the first child and $20 for any additional. Four classes will be offered: 1st Communion, Intermediate, Confirmation, and High School. Classes will begin on Sunday, October 18th, from 9:10 AM to 9:45 AM. Please note that our Confirmation class is a two-year program. Therefore if you have a child who you would like to have confirmed in the following academic year (2016-17), the student should be enrolled in this year’s Confirmation Class. The deadline to register is September 20th.
Catechism Teachers - A signup sheet is in the back of the church for parishioners who would like to volunteer to teach Catechism this year. Classes will begin October 18th.
Youth Group - On Saturday, September 26, the Mater Dei Youth Group (open to teenagers from 13 through 18 year old) will meet for the Rosary and a talk by Father Eichman as well as games and social time. For more information and to receive email notifications please contact Forbeck@comcast.net
October 1st Friday Devotions - Mass will be at 7:30pm. A Holy Hour of Exposition with Benediction and Confessions directly follows Mass.
Men’s Day of Recollection - There will be a Men's Day of Recollection on Saturday, October 17, 2015. Fr. Pendergraft, FSSP, will be the Director and the theme is Meditative Prayer. The day will begin with a Solemn High Mass at 9am and will conclude with Benediction at 3:30pm. The cost is $20 per person, which includes a light breakfast, lunch, and break refreshments. Rosary Rally - On Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 11:30 we will commemorate the 98th Anniversary of Mary’s appearance at Fatima, Portugal in 1917. All will assemble at St. Lawrence Church, located at 110 State Street, and process to Front Street for the recitation of the Rosary. After the Rosary, Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will be celebrated at St. Lawrence. If you have any questions, please call Robert Charlton at 717-761- 7228.
