Twentieth Sunday After Pentecost

October 23, 2022

Total Consecration to Our Lady Parish-wide Invitation:

We invite all parishioners to participate in a Total Consecration to our Lady according to the method of St. Louis de Montfort. While there are several ways of doing this, we will use a simple method proposed in “Preparation for Total Consecration According to St. Louis de Montfort” published by Montfort Publications.

We propose having the consecration on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Dec. 8, which is the patronal feast of the United States. Therefore, those wishing to participate should begin their 33-day preparation on Nov. 5.

Though this preparation will be done by individuals/ families privately, we will recite this consecration publicly as a parish after the Masses we have on the Immaculate Conception. Please email: contact@stlawrence.cc if you have any Questions. “Preparation for Total Consecration” booklets will be available in the back of Church. Parishioners can also sign up at: contact@stlawrence.cc to receive daily emails with meditations.

ALL SAINTS DAY PARTY:

The All Saints Day party will be held on Sunday, November 6th. The deadline to sign up was Friday, Oct, 21.However if you have not signed up as yet, it is very important that you do so no later than TODAY, in order for us to have an idea of how many children will be attending, as well as be able to give the venue an accurate count for the pig roast. Those who wish to donate, please earmark your donation “All Saints Day party,” and place it in the collection or mail to the parish office. If you have questions, please email Rebecca Mack at: allsaints@stlawrence.cc

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR ALL SAINTS DAY PARTY!:

Please consider volunteering a half hour to an hour of your time for our Nov. 6 All Saints Day party. We need many volunteers for the success of this wonderful party for the children celebrating the great feast of All Saints.

Parishioners should have received communication last week about  signing up for attendance & volunteering. Please email Rebecca Mack: allsaints@stlawrence.cc if you have questions. May God reward you for the generous donation of your time.

All Souls Novena—November 2-10:

SUNDAY CATECHISM:

All Students must assemble at 9:15am in the Church’s basement Social Hall;  Teachers and Teacher Assistants will then escort students to their respective classroom.

St. Catherine of Siena Young Adults' Group:

For any young adults (ages 18-35) interested, St. Lawrence has a Young Adult Group which meets about three times a month for different events, including social events, charitable works, and Bible studies. For more information, please email: youngadult@stlawrence.cc.

Marriage preparation class:

As part of the requirement for marriage preparation, engaged couples planning to be married at St. Lawrence between now and June 30, 2023, will take a group course to review the philosophical and theological principles governing marriage. The group will meet on Fridays at 7:30 pm; about a half dozen times (more or less depending upon how quickly the material is covered). In order to be admitted to the course, couples must have first met with one of the priests and provide the necessary documents (including Baptismal and Confirmation certificates). This is an opportunity to learn the clear distinctions about the laws of marriage, as well as to get to know other engaged couples.

Registration at St. Lawrence Church:

The Pastor and Assistant Pastor have the special grace to guide those who are registered parishioners and are hence assigned to their care. The Mass offered for the people every Sunday, Pro Populo, is offered for those who are registered members. Anyone seeking the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation and Matrimony here must be registered and active parishioners for 6  months. Registration forms are available on our website.

Inquiry Class Reminder:

If you are not Catholic and are interested in Catholicism, or if you know of anyone who is at all interested, we hold an Inquiry class every Monday at 6pm in the school building the behind church. This is a no commitment class and all one needs to do is show up. If you have questions, you are welcome to contact the office at: contact@stlawrence.cc.
