Holy Name Society, New Membership Opportunity - Catholic men 18 years of age and older are invited to join the Mater Dei Holy Name Society.  Information about this traditional confraternity can be found at www.nahns.com. There will be a new member induction ceremony on January 3, and all eligible males are encouraged to consider this spiritual and social opportunity.  Weekly Adoration Tuesdays, Thank you new Adorers - The church is now open for adoration from 8am-1pm on Tuesdays. Thank you to the seven new volunteers this past week who have joined our Adorer’s rotation as substitutes.

St Jude Devotion - This Wednesday, December 16, we will have our monthly St Jude Devotion.

  • 6pm Simple Adoration
  • 7pm Low Mass
  • Following Mass: Devotion prayers & Veneration of St. Jude Relic

Legion of Mary - If you are interested in joining the Mater Dei Legion of Mary, please contact the office.

Registration at Mater Dei - The Chaplain and Assistant Chaplain have the special grace to guide those who are registered parishioners and are hence assigned to their care. The Mass offered for the people every Sunday, Pro Populo, is offered for those who are registered members. Anyone seeking the Sacraments of Baptism, 1st Communion, Confirmation and Matrimony here must be registered and active parishioners for 6 months. Registration forms are available on our website.

Sunday January 10 - Evening Mass Time Change - On Sunday, January 10, our usual 6pm Mass will be moved to 3pm. There will be no Vespers. This change is only for this one week.

Young Adult Group—Brunch Today - For any young adults (age 18—35) interested, the Mater Dei Young Adult Group will again be meeting after the 12 noon Mass today at the Squeaky Rail Diner (505 N. Enola Rd, Enola, PA 17025) to have brunch together. We will meet there roughly at 1:45pm. Youth Group Meeting this Saturday - Our Youth Group (13 - 18 yrs) will meet this Saturday, December 19 from 6:00pm-9:00pm. For more information contact Dawn Forbeck at Forbecks@Comcast.net

 Adult Catechism Class - Fr. Killackey is offering an adult catechism class during the academic year on Monday evenings at 7pm. This class is primarily geared towards those wishing to become Catholic, but any adult wishing to know more about the Faith is welcome to join. If interested, please contact Fr. Mater Dei Stocking Stuffers - Consider contacting the office to purchase a Mater Dei mug for Christmas this year. Mugs are available for $5 in dark blue or white.

New Music Director

We are happy to announce that Paul May will be joining Mater Dei as our new Music Director beginning the first week of January 2021.

Conductor and baritone Paul Thomas May is a vocalist and devoted church musician native to San Diego, CA. Mr. May served as the Director of Music for several Catholic churches in the course of his career and has curated and developed choirs varying from an octet schola to 50+ liturgical ensembles.

Mr. May previously held the position of Bass Choral Scholar and Assistant Director for the Choristers at St. Anne’s Catholic Church FSSP where he specialized in the performance and history of both Gregorian Chant and sacred renaissance/baroque polyphony.

Though primarily a church musician, Mr. May is also the former director of the Cuyamaca Community College Choir and San Diego Mannskor, Norwegian Male Chorus, and has worked closely with many other professional organizations in San Diego including the Bach Collegium San Diego, and San Diego Pro Arte Voices. His credentials include two degrees—Bachelor of Music and Master of Music—from San Diego State University in Professional Studies and Choral Conducting respectively.
