Sunday Mass Schedule

Our Mass schedule is as follows:

  • 7:30am Low Mass
  • 9:00am Low Mass (also livestreamed)
  • 10:30 Low Mass
  • 12:00 Low Mass
  • 6:00pm Low Mass

Registration will open at 6pm on Tuesday evening.

Seminary Burse Collection Today

Today we will have our quarterly collection in support of Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary, the FSSP seminary in Denton, Nebraska. Thank you for your continuing support of your future priests

Sung Mass for the Feast of St. Lawrence

We will have a 7pm Sung Mass in addition to the usual 7:15am Mass tomorrow, 8/10, for the Feast of St. Lawrence.

Girls’ Sodality Ice Cream Party

There will be an ice cream party for the Girl’s Sodality at August 29th from 2-5pm. All young ladies ages 9 through high school are welcome and encouraged to attend. Contact Jill Lear at JillLear@hotmail.com for more information.

This Fall’s Sunday Catechism

Registration for this Fall's Sunday Catechism Classes will begin in a few weeks. You must be a parishioner to be enrolled in these classes. Enrollment is mandatory for any student who will be receiving their 1st Communion or Confirmation this year.

Mater Dei Email List

If you are not on our parish wide email list and wish to be, email chaplainssecretary@materdeipa.com to be added as a recipient.

Sung Vespers Tonight

We will have Sung Vespers tonight at 5:30pm followed by the 6pm Mass.

Youth Group Meeting

Our next Youth Group event will take place on the Feast of the Assumption, Saturday, 8/15 from 6-9pm. All youth 13-high school are invited to attend. Email Forbecks@comcast.net for more information.

Legion of Mary – Auxiliary Members

The Mater Dei praesidium is not currently meeting. But all Auxiliary Members are encouraged to continue to pray for the success of the work of the Legion of Mary. Your prayers are essential to the efficacy of the Legion's work.

Adoration Feasibility Survey

If you are interested in signing up for regularly scheduled Eucharistic Adoration at Mater Dei, possibly on Tuesdays during the day, please contact Amanda Healy at 717-847-4871.

Please Bring Your Own Masks

We have been going through the masks in the vestibule very quickly. We ask that you  please keep or bring your own mask, but we will continue to provide masks for anyone who forgets theirs. Thanks!

Mass Schedule on the Feast of the Assumption

We will have a special Mass schedule on Saturday, 8/15 for the Feast of the Assumption. Registration for these Masses will open at the same time as registration for Sunday Mass— Tuesday evening at 6pm. Mass times will be as follows:

  • 7:30am Low Mass
  • 9:00am Low Mass
  • 10:30am Low Mass

Sacred Music Lecture, Friday, 8/14

At 7:30pm next Friday, 8/14, Music Director Patrick Torsell will present a half hour live-streamed lecture on St. Pius X’s renowned document on Sacred Music, “Tra Le Sollecitudini.” The lecture will answer the question, “Why chant, polyphony, and traditional hymnody?” and discuss the philosophical and theological framework for Catholic music programs as established by St. Pius X. The stream will be available on our Facebook page at Facebook.com/MaterDeiPA.

ProLife Rosary Change

This month we will pray the rosary for the unborn after 9am Mass on the fourth Saturday of the month, 8/22, rather than the third Sunday.

New Young Adult Parishioners

If you are one of our new young adult parishioners (18-35) send your email to the office so that we can keep you in the loop about upcoming events.

Holy Water Available

There are holy water containers in the vestibule for anyone who would like to take one since there is no holy water in the stoops.

FSSP Pig Roast & Barn Dance

The FSSP Scranton Parish, St. Michael's, is having a Pig Roast and Barn Dance on August 22, 2020.  Tickets must be reserved in advance by August 15. The cost is either $15 per person or $40 for a family. Children 5 and under are free. It is a Barn Dance with a whole Pig dinner and all the fixings. All you can eat and drink included in ticket. There will be a live fiddle band and caller for Barn Dance Fun! And if weather is permitting, there will be different inflatables for the children.
