Sunday Mass Schedule

Our Sunday Mass schedule is as follows:

• 7:30am Low Mass
• 9:00am Low Mass
• 10:30 Low Mass
• 12:00 Sung Mass (also livestreamed)
• 6:00pm Low Mass

Registration will open at 6pm every Tuesday evening on our website.

Catechism Meeting Postponed

We are currently restructuring our Sunday Catechism Program. The mandatory parent meeting that was scheduled for next Sunday is temporarily postponed. If you would like to enroll your child in our Catechism classes, pick up a packet in the back of the church and mail or email registration forms by tomorrow, Monday, September 21st. Forms can be mailed in to the office (110 State St. Harrisburg, PA 17101) or emailed to chaplainssecretary@materdeipa.com. This will allow us to survey and most effectively meet the demand for each class.

Adult Catechism Class

Fr. Killackey is offering an adult catechism class during the academic year on Monday evenings at 7pm. This class is primarily geared towards those wishing to become Catholic, but any adult wishing to know more about the Faith is welcome to join.  If interested, please contact Fr. Mater Dei Email List

If you are not on our parish wide email list and wish to be, email ChaplainsSecretary@MaterDeiPA.com to be added as a recipient.

Sung Mass at 6pm Next Sunday

Next Sunday, we will have Sung Vespers at 5:30pm followed by Sung Mass at 6pm.

Latin Class

Matthew Dracoules, the Latin teacher at Trinity High School, will be offering an introductory Latin class on Wednesdays at 6pm beginning October 7th. If you plan to attend and haven’t already let us know, please contact chaplainssecretary@materdeipa.com.

Weekly Adoration Beginning Tuesday 9/22

The church will open for adoration from 8am-1pm on Tuesdays, beginning this Tuesday, September 22.   If you are interested in adoration but can not commit to a weekly hour please consider signing up to be an alternate for our scheduled adorers. Please Contact Amanda Healy 717-847-4871.

Legion of Mary

For any new parishioners who are interested: Mater Dei has a Legion of Mary chapter that is not currently meeting. If you have interest in becoming a member or auxiliary member, please contact the office.

Registration at Mater Dei

The Chaplain and Assistant Chaplain have the special grace to guide those who are registered parishioners and are hence assigned to their care. The Mass offered for the people every Sunday, Pro Populo, is offered for those who are registered members. Anyone seeking the Sacraments of Baptism, 1st Communion, Confirmation and Matrimony here must be registered and active parishioners for 6 months. Registration forms are available in the back of church or on our website.

Cleaning Updates

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has stayed to clean after Masses! It is very much appreciated since “many hands make light work.”

• If anyone is interested in giving just 1 hour of their time once a month to help clean the rest of the church building, the Second Saturday of each month is in most need of extra volunteers.
• If regular commitment doesn’t work for you but you can help out occasionally as your schedule permits, please consider joining our substitute list! The work can be tailored to your tastes and abilities – no heavy lifting required. Even if you can only give a few minutes, every bit helps so please consider signing up.

Free Meter Parking on Saturdays

By downloading the Parkmobile App, users can receive four hours of free parking on Saturdays anywhere in Harrisburg by using the code “LUVHBG.”  If this option doesn’t show up, try deleting & reinstalling the App.

Girls Sodality Fall Event
