Laws of Fast & Abstinence
The traditional and current laws of fast and abstinence are available at the back of the church. Remember, Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of both fast and abstinence.
Lenten Mission
During the first week of Lent, March 10-13, Father Joseph Tuscan, OFM, will give a Lenten mission at Mater Dei. Monday-Wednesday evenings will include 6pm Confessions, followed by Mass, a sermon, and Benediction with veneration of a glove belonging to Padre Pio and a first class relic of Blessed Solanus Casey.
Additional Lunchtime Confessions for Lent
Beginning March 12th, we will hear Confessions from 12 Noon to 1pm every Tuesday and Wednesday of Lent.
Stations of the Cross
Stations of the Cross will be every Friday of Lent.
Substitute Church Cleaners
We are still in need of a few substitutes for our church cleaning crew. They are only asked to be available to help a few times per year. Contact Elaine Rainey at Seabhj3@gmail.com
Parish Registration Update
Next Sunday, March 10th, we will have tables set up outside of the Church following both Masses for all parishioners to update their contact and family information for the parish. Thank you for your cooperation!
St. Michael Prayer
Bishop Gainer has requested that at every Mass offered in the diocese, the prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel be rayed. We already do this at every Low Mass during the Leonine prayers said at the conclusion of the Mass. We are also now inserting the St. Michael prayer directly after the Gospel at all Sung Masses.
Palms to be Burned
In preparation for Ash Wednesday there will be a basket in the back of the church today for old palms blessed last year.
