Coffee & Donuts - We will have coffee and donuts in the downstairs Social Hall after the 10am Masses today.  Please join us!

 Seminary Burse - We will have a second collection this morning for the Seminary Burse.  This burse supports the FSSP seminary of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Denton, NE.

 Vespers Tonight - Vespers and Exposition with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will be tonight from 5:30pm–6:30pm.  Sheets will be provided for all to follow along.  We have Vespers every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month.

Annunciation - Sung Mass - Schedule for Monday, April 9th, the transferred Feast of the annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary:

  • 7:10am - Low Mass
  • 7:00pm - Sung Mass 

New Parking Procedure - Do not park in the spaces directly beside or behind the gray building on the corner of Front  St. and State St. (407 Front Street).  This is because the hours of operation for the new lessee’s includes evenings and weekends.  The other parking spaces formerly used do remain available as before.  Contact the office with any questions.

Changed Parking Meter Evening Hours - Parking on State Street and the roads south of it is now free beginning at 5pm on weeknights.  It was formerly free after 7pm.  The city is trying this on a trial basis.

Catechism Classes Resume Today - Our Sunday Catechism classes resume this morning, April 8th, at the usual time.

Youth Group - April Meeting - Join us on April 21 from 6pm - 9pm for outdoor games and a bonfire.  Fr Eichman will give a talk and we will close with a Rosary.  The Youth Group is open to young people ages 13-18.  For more information and to RSVP contact us at YouthGroup@MaterDeiPA.com

Warm Weather Reminder - As the warmer weather returns transients will increase.  Remember that if any needy person approaches you at St. Lawrence requesting money or another type of material aid, do not give them any. Instead, direct them to one of the priests, who know the regulars in the neighborhood.

Charitable Bequests - Many of the Church’s most helpful gifts come from the estates of generous donors.  As we at Mater Dei look ahead to our future challenges we ask you to please remember Mater Dei in your will or living trust.  Contact Fr Eichman with any questions.

Bishop Gainer Visit - 100th Anniversary of St Lawrence - On Tuesday, April 24, at 7pm Bishop Gainer will offer a Pontifical High Mass celebrating the 100th anniversary of the dedication of St. Lawrence Church in April of 1918.  A reception will follow.

 Easter Duty - Every Catholic has the obligation to receive Communion at least once per year during Eastertide which continues through Trinity Sunday.  In addition, every Catholic is required to go to Confession at least once per year.

 High School Graduation Mass - We will have a High School graduation Mass for our parishioners on the evening of Friday, June 15. The regular 6:30pm Mass will be offered for the intentions of the graduates, and a reception for the families and their guests will be held in the social hall following Mass. St. Tarcisius Meeting - Our next St. Tarcisius Meeting is Saturday, April 7th at 5:00pm.  The group is for children ages 5 – 12 and meets monthly in order to train the children to meditate.  Each meeting includes a short, priest led meditation, the rosary, and a potluck dinner.  Meetings are the 1st Saturday of the month from 5-7pm.  We will gather in a different host family’s home each month.  For information concerning our February meeting please contact us at SaintTarcisiusGroup@MaterDeiPA.com

 Fr. Buckley Pilgrimage - Fr. Franco is organizing a group of boys and men to join the seminarians of OLG Seminary on a pilgrimage to Washington D.C. in early June.  Pilgrims will walk 50 miles along the C & O Canal as penance for their sins and the sins of the nation. Meal Train - Calling all those who want to grow in love of neighbor! We are starting a meal train for those in our parish who need meals - new mommas, those in an emergency, etc. If you are interested in helping cook occasionally or know someone who needs help, please e-mail Alyssa Showers at pianoteacher87@gmail.com
