First Sunday of Lent

Coffee & Donuts

We will have coffee & donuts in the downstairs Social Hall following the 10am Mass this morning.  All are welcome to join us.

Vespers Tonight

Vespers and Exposition with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will be tonight from 5:30pm–6:30pm.  Sheets will be provided for all to follow along.

Stations of the Cross

Stations of the Cross will be every Friday of Lent.

  • 5:00pm - Simple Adoration
  • 6:00pm - Stations of the Cross
  • 6:30pm - Low Mass

 Girls Junior Sodality Meeting

This month's Junior Sodality will be meeting Sunday, March 17, after the 10:00 am Mass on the 2nd floor in classroom #3.  All young ladies age 9 thru high school are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Any questions, please contact Jill Lear at jilllear@hotmail.com

Youth Group Evening

Our March meeting, this Saturday, will be a St. Patrick's Day celebration from 6-9 pm.  Father Eichman will give a talk and lead us in the rosary. Please bring a friend and a themed snack to share.  For more information please contact Dawn Forbeck at forbecks@comcast.net

Men's Schola Opportunities

The Mater Dei Schola is seeking additional chanters. Please consider joining your brothers in singing to the glory of God in the Church's ancient tradition of Gregorian Chant. Ability to read music is not required, but must be able to match pitch and carry a tune accurately. We are also actively seeking a capable tenor to join the mixed choir. Please speak to Music Director, Patrick Torsell, or email music@materdeipa.com if interested.

Parish Registration Update

Please stop by one of the tables set up along the side aisles of the church following Mass today to update your parish registration form. Thank you!

Feast of Saint Joseph— Chorister Sung Mass

On Tuesday, March 19 at 7pm, a High Mass will be offered for the Feast of St. Joseph with the Mater Dei Choristers (children’s choir) singing.  Please join us for a traditional St. Joseph's Bread Table blessing and celebration afterward.  Bring your favorite bread(s) to adorn the Table and share!

Rosary for the Unborn

This Saturday, February 16, following the 9AM Mass we will pray a 15 mystery Rosary and the Litany to the Sacred Heart for the protection of the unborn.

Additional Lunchtime Confessions for Lent

Beginning March 12th, we will hear Confessions from 12 Noon to 1pm every Tuesday and Wednesday of Lent.

Church Safety Workshop

There will be a 30 minute Active Shooter Preparedness workshop in the church following both Masses on March 31.  These workshops are provided as a prudent action to enhance the safety of our community and are not in response to any increased or specific threat.  Parents should consider whether the attendance of their children is appropriate.

THIS WEEK’S LENTEN MISSION

Father Joseph Tuscan, OFM, will deliver a Lenten Mission Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings of this week. The schedule is as follows:

  • 6:00pm: Confessions
  • 6:30pm: Low Mass
  • 7:00pm: Sermon, Benediction with veneration of relics*

*Glove belonging to Padre Pio and first class relic of Blessed Solanus Casey
