Weekly Announcements

January 3, 2016

Catechism Class – Christmas Break – There will be no Children’s Catechism classes today,  Sunday, January 3rd.  Classes resume on January 10th.

Epiphany Water Blessing – Epiphany water is blessed the day before the Epiphany.  The ceremony will take about forty minutes and includes the regular traditional exorcisms and blessings over holy water, in addition to the litany of the Saints and an additional special exorcism, the Te Deum, numerous psalms and the Magnificat  You are encouraged to bring your own containers of water to be blessed  for your personal use at home throughout the year.  If you are bringing your own container, be sure to arrive ahead of time.

New Parish Website – We have a new parish website: MaterDeiPA.com which was launched a few weeks ago.  It was very generously built specifically for and given to us by a professional web designer.  We plan for it to become an integral part of our weekly communications to you, so please become familiar with the site’s layout and features.

Available Parking – As a reminder: we have been given permission to park behind the office buildings located across the street from St. Lawrence during the weekends.  The entrance to these parking spaces is via Academy Alley, which is located directly behind these houses, and is the first alley after passing State Street.  These parking spaces can only be reached by turning left off Front Street. Please report any incident that might cause the owners concern, as we do not want to jeopardize the parking hospitality given to us from these generous property owners.  Also note that the parking lot along the side of St. Lawrence, off Buttonwood Street is not to be used.

Saturday Exposition & Benediction – We now have a Holy Hour composed of Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction from 8:00 AM-9:00AM every Saturday morning.

Friday Evening Mass & Adoration – Beginning Friday, January 8th we will have a weekly 5:30pm Friday Mass followed by Simple Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 6:15pm – 7:15pm.  This will replace our current 1st Friday 6:30pm Mass.
