Vespers Tonight - Vespers and Exposition with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will be tonight from 5:30pm–6:30pm. Vespers will be sung recto tono. Sheets will be provided for all to follow along. We have Vespers every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month.
Seminary Burse Today - Today there will be a second collection for the seminarians of Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in Denton, NE.
Youth Group - Next Saturday - Our next Youth Group event will be Capture the Flag and a Bonfire followed by a talk by Father Eichman and the Rosary. Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 6:00pm—9:00pm. Rosary at Abortuary - On September 16 following our 9:00am Mass, please join us to pray the Rosary in front of the Hillcrest abortuary, 2709 N. Front St. in Harrisburg. Fr. Eichman will lead us in the Rosary and the Litany to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Catechism Class Registration - Our Children’s Catechism registration will be on Sunday, September 17 following both Masses. Information concerning the program will be available on Sunday, September 10. Children must be registered members of Mater Dei to enroll. The Cost is $45 for the first child and $20 for additional. A mandatory parent meeting will be on October 8 between the Masses and first day of classes October 15. Please note that the Confirmation class is a 2-year program. This will be year one. If your child will be of age to be Confirmed in 2019, they should enroll in this falls class.
Regina Caeli Academy - Information Session - Anyone interested is invited to learn more about RCA's hybrid, two-day-a-week, classical homeschool program in the Catholic tradition on Saturday, September 30, 7-9pm at Mary Mother of the Church, 625 Union School Rd, Mount Joy, PA 17552. A presentation about RCA's mission of "Training the Mind to Form the Soul" will be offered by Co-Founder and Executive Director, Kari Beckman to prospective parents and a Q&A will follow. Adult Convert / Adult Confirmation - Begins September 28 - Any adults interested in coming into the Catholic Church or receiving Confirmation and for those interested in brushing up on their Faith; Adult Catechism classes will begin on Thursday, September 28th at 7pm in a classroom. Fall - Men’s Recollection - The Holy Name Society will be sponsoring a Men’s Morning of Recollection given by Fr. Saguto FSSP on Saturday, October 7, 2017. The Morning of Recollection will be open to all men including non-parishioners and will include a conference by Fr. Saguto, time for adoration and confessions, and a Rosary walk.
Children Supervision - Parents with children please note: the upper floor of the school building is off limits to all except for students while attending their catechism class on that floor. Also, while we strive to make the church a safe environment for children, we are in the midst of a busy city with transients frequently walking down the street and alleys surrounding St. Lawrence. Do not leave your young children unsupervised, either inside the church/school building or outside. Recently, children have been seen roaming the school building without adult supervision, and young children have been seen walking down the alley to and from the coffee social without the accompaniment of an adult (or responsible older sibling). Direct any questions to Fr. Eichman.
Speaking Inside Church - Please refrain from speaking inside of Church. If you need to speak with someone, go out to the vestibule (entrance) before speaking. Also remember that noise in the vestibule carries inside the church and is easily heard. So please remember to use a hushed tone so as not to distract those within the church and out of respect for Our Lord.
