5th Sunday of Lent

March 13, 2016

Coffee and Donuts - All are invited to the Social Hall after the 10:00AM Mass today for coffee and donuts.  Access through door via the side alley.

Warm Weather Reminder - As the warmer weather returns transients will increase.  Remember that if any needy person approaches you at St. Lawrence requesting money or another type of material aid, do not give them any. Instead, direct them to the Cathedral one block up the street towards the Capitol building.  The Cathedral is equipped to assist the needy.  We are not!  Although it may seem the charitable thing to do, please realize that by giving aid to these individuals you are encouraging them to return and hence doing a disservice to your fellow parishioners and in particular the families who should be able to bring their young children here without hesitation. Thank you.

Youth Group Bon-Fire - The Youth Group will have a Bon-Fire on Saturday, March 19, from 6PM - 9PM.  The Youth Group is open to young people ages 13 - 18.  For more information contact us at youthgroup@materdeipa.com

Annual Lenten Appeal - The Bishop's Annual Lenten Appeal is underway. If you have not yet done so, please fill out a pledge card and place it in the collection basket or mail it to the office. Our diocesan assessment this year is $10,000.  So far we have $4,955.  Anything excess funds will remain with Mater Dei.

Flowers for Easter - Please remember that an envelope for Easter Flowers is included with your weekly offering envelopes to help defray the cost of the Easter flowers.  Thanks for your generosity.

Stations of the Cross - Stations of the Cross will be said every Friday during Lent.

  • 5:30pm - Mass
  • 6:15pm - Stations of the Cross
  • 6:45pm - Simple Adoration
