Building Fund Collection

Today we will have our monthly Building Fund collection. Thank you for your continued generosity!

Sung Vespers

We will have Sung Vespers tonight at 5:30pm, followed by the 6pm Mass.

Mother’s Day Novena

The Mother’s Day cards are available for the Mother’s Day Novena of Masses which will be offered May 9 – 17. Please fill and place your cards into the collection basket by May 2.

St. Tarcisius Meeting

The next St. Tarcisius meeting is Saturday, May 1, from 5-7pm. The group is for children ages 5 – 12 and meets monthly in order to train the children to meditate. Each meeting includes a short, priest led meditation, the rosary, and a potluck dinner. Meetings are the 1st Saturday of the month. Sunday Sports

For any families interested, Fr. Killackey will be leading a rotation of different sports on Sundays starting at 12:30pm over at Wormleysburg Park across the river (address: 744 -798 N River St, Wormleysburg, PA 1704). If you are interested in attending, email Fr. Killackey at fr.killackey@materdeipa.com to be put on an email mailing list for updates.

May Crowning

On Sunday, May 9, the noon Mass will begin with a May Crowning. Children who would like to join the procession should report to the group gathering beside the church in the alley at 11:45am. 

Mother’s Day Carnations

On Mother’s Day, the Junior Sodality will have carnations available after the Masses. Donations will be gladly accepted. All proceeds will be given to the Pro-Life group, Pennsylvanians for Human Life.

Solemn High Mass and First Blessings

Deacon John Audino, FSSP, will be ordained to the priesthood on May 28. We are excited and blessed to have him here on Monday, June 7, to offer a Solemn High Mass at 7pm. Following Mass, he will give first blessings. He is one of five deacons from Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary being ordained this spring.

Chant Camp

This summer's Chant Camp is scheduled for July 12-16. Registration will open to parishioners within the next few weeks. Space permitting, it will be opened to non-parishioner families once all parishioners have had an opportunity to register.

Hand Missals for Sale

1962 Daily Hand Missals are once again available for purchase in the church office for $60.  We offer the Missal published in 2008 by Baronius Press in association with the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter.

St. Lawrence Feast & Summer Picnic

We will celebrate the feast of St Lawrence and have our summer picnic on Sunday, August 8. Details and volunteer sign up sheets will be forthcoming.

Weeknight Basketball for Adults

Any men interested in playing basketball on Mondays or Tuesday evenings contact Fr. Eichman at materdeichaplain@gmail.com

Young Adult Bible Study

Any young  adult of the parish is welcome to join a monthly virtual Genesis Bible study hosted by Fr. Killackey through Zoom. For more information, please email Fr. Killackey at fr.killackey@materdeipa.com.

Donations Needed for Interfaith Shelter for Homeless Families

Interfaith Shelter for Homeless Families (a Catholic Charities residential program in suburban Harrisburg) is in need of the following donations: ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, kidney beans (15.5 ounce cans), paper plates/cups/bowls (no Styrofoam please), laundry detergents/bleach/dryer sheets, body lotion, non-contact infrared thermometers, and disposable masks. Donations can be taken to the Diocesan Center (4800 Union Deposit Rd.) or to the shelter (120 Willow Rd.) in Harrisburg. Please call in advance if bringing items to the shelter: 717-652-8740.
